The Haus des Papiers is the world's first museum exclusively dedicated to contemporary visual paper art. We don't exhibit art on paper, like drawings or paintings; instead, we showcase art made from paper. Our aim is to present paper as a primary artistic and creative medium, highlighting its surprising diversity and limitless creative potential.

The museum project was initiated and financed by entrepreneurs Ul Vohrer and Annette Berr of the FineArt-Print Manufaktur d’mage and is supported by the three affiliated companies d’mage, Hahnemühle, and Canon Germany. Both have long been dedicated to increasing public awareness of paper as a material in the visual arts. This dedication led to the creation of projects like Paper Residency! and the Paper Art Award.
